>>86767342I don't know if that's entirely honest. Beyond explicit gfe, sexual attraction and a related type of affection are the bedrock of vtubing. Someone "not doing gfe" is still leveraging the desire, whether overt or reflexive and subconscious, for her to be your girlfriend for a huge majority of her audience, and a male viewers enjoyment of the non sexual aspects of what she's doing is vastly enhanced by that underlying attraction-someone is funnier when you're attracted to them. This stirs up a certain type of affection and appeal-not just horniness. While this isn't quite the right term the closest way to describe it is romantic affection, though that term goes too far, at least at first, yet to say you find it cute doesn't capture the whole thing or register how deep it can go. Finding a girl doing something more engaging and enjoyable than a guy doing the same thing in a way that isn't just being horny. It's horniness lending itself to a qualitatively different kind affection with some of the same mechanisms by which, in a healthy context, people in relationships grow to love each other. The same way parasocial relationships leverage mechanisms that the brain has for the purposes of enjoying real world socialisation, despite it not being the same thing at all.
I'm not saying this is the case, I don't know at all, but its possible that the reason she's specifically taken issue with this and made a whole thing of it and started fights on twitter about it, is because the fact that vtubers feel the need to hide that they have boyfriends implicitly says something, says a lot of the above. By implicitly saying that what they do would be spoiled by the awareness they have boyfriends, they are saying that what they do, what she does, is fundamentally about exploiting loneliness and stirring up feelings that are meant to go somewhere that you know won't go anywhere so that you can profit from them, whether just with money or because you enjoy having such a big platform. I'm not saying that's wrong to do, the guys(and some girls) are adults with an onus to look out for themselves if this was a bad thing, but some people maybe would think its kinda wrong to do and not want to really think about how huge a part of the vtuber phenomenon it is if they would be complicit.
