As servants get defeated and Sakura absorbs their souls, Angra Mainyu manages to creep in and kinda possess Sakura, causing her to lash out and kill people. Shirou learns about this and decides to save her instead of killing her. A bunch of shit happens, many servants get corrupted by the mud, and Shirou eventually ends up saving Sakura by destroying the greater grail. He kills himself in the process, but Illya saves him by using the 3rd magic to preserve his soul so that it can be transplanted into a doll's body.
