Nope. Hoping for Cover and Bushiroad to do the smart thing and release a Master Duel-like version of the OCG. For now we have to make do with Holoduel. Just make sure you have "Use hardware acceleration when available" checked if you're using Chrome. Also works on mobile last time I checked.

I've just been copying decks off the Holotcg_guild twitter and I think my favorite so far is this Aki deck. The one thing that killing me the most is sitting on a 1st stage for multiple turns without drawing the debut and this deck solves it by just being Oops! All Aki. On top of that I like the healing and energy acceleration. My wishlist for supports is just a Rare Candy equivalent and a means to pull things out of the Archive without needing Kiara.

They already have a second booster set planned to release in late December, along with 3 more prebuilt decks. On top of that, Korone's birthday promo card is yellow, which is a color that doesn't exist in either of these sets. So they're obviously already planning for at least one other set.
Looks like we can expect 4 sets a year at this rate. Hopefully they can catch up the English version, whenever that gets released.

I tried some of the simulator. I like that the collab mechanics and the oshi powers make it feel a lot more dynamic than pokemon. And it's better than Weiss Schwarz, for sure. Could be fun to play.

Ideally, stage 1 Zeta is good enough for the center spot and you set up multiple Buzz Zetas for a damage loop, so bench slots feels too important for Spot cards. The ID draw spell is only bad when you whiff but otherwise it's very good

Swarm bench as Irys and Mumei's attacks deal a lot of damage with more bench players. Because their deck is really good at being consistent, you theoretically can maintain constant pressure the entire match and can use Mumei's oshi skill to stop your opponent doing key KOs then counterattack from there

Main attacker is Irys. Kronii just sits on the backstage for cheer ramp. Note that you can bloom 1st Kronii to 1st Kronii. Use Mumei to search for the necessary members. Mumei's once per turn skill is the one mostly used so that they always have to do +50 damage to kill.

Tried this out on the simulator a little, I don't know if it's because we were both new or playing starter/sample decks or what but the game feels kind of... linear? I'm not sure that's the right word but it just feels like very direct back and forth slugfest, they all have retreat costs but we essentially never used them because each game is so few turns that it's hard to afford the cost.

That's how Pokemon has been from my experience. It feels faster because the combat is in doubles and life totals are usually 5.

You can still strategically retreat given Stage 1s are both beefy and have low cost attacks

Alright. I haven't played pokemon tcg in lierally decades so I don't have the right frame of reference, I guess. The collab slot also being able to attack had us constantly surprised by sheer damage output, even the person attacking kept getting caught offguard by how much damage they were dealing.
It does keep the games quick though which is nice

That makes me wonder how long it'll take them to release more cards to update existing girls. Without counting spots, they did 18 holomems in the first pack, and they're doing 14 holomems in the second pack. Including dev_is, there are 66 girls in hololive. So it'll probably take 4-5 sets to include all of them in the game.
So about a year.

A healthy competitive meta in a card game game is like, 3-5 decks that're roughly equal to each other at the top and can police each other through counters or just balanced match ups, then a handful of less strong decks that're playable but disadvantaged and fill up space between those decks like "has a good match up against X deck" or "good when no one is prepared for it".

You don't actually want too many strong, balanced decks at the top because it makes the tournament environment way more volatile.

I just went against it.

Bae's attack is 2 energy for consistent 100 damage that also gets +50 against green (AZKi)

She only has 180 HP, but Mumei can reduce it by 50. Add in the KFP tool that reduces damage by 10, you get a subtly hard hitting deck once set up

Hp threshold for 1st Promises with mumei skill is 160+ which is exactly a searcher polka and a buzz with 2 fans on turn 2 so idk anon i think it's enough.

I'm not sure if I agree with that anon, but I'm guessing he's saying that the environment would be more "volatile" because the metagame would be harder to understand. I guess if there's too many strong decks, countering specific strategies would be more difficult.
And I guess the variety of matchups would make tournaments less predictable, but that seems like a good thing to me?

Most skill in these games all comes down to knowing what you can get away with (cheating), if your opponent lacks certain knowledge you abuse that.
Atleast its what i do at my yugioh locals, often times yugioh is a game of "words"
For example
>I activate an effect
>Opponent asks "what does it do"
>Respond with a truthful answer of what the effect will do
>However, my card has another effect but since the opponent didnt ask about it i wont tell him
>2nd effect fucks him over and he loses
>He calls over the judge
>The situation is explained
>No foul play because i answered truthfully what was asked, also called him out because he couldve just read the fucking card
Dont know if Holotcg will work like this, hopefully it does cuz its hilarious

Shitty RPS metas are generally a consequence of wider meta games, not narrow ones, because when you only have a few top tiers, one of them being very easy to counter will quickly knock it out of the meta and evolve the meta game. If decks are meaningfully different at all but also well balanced, then bad match ups are inevitable. If there're too many decks that're consistently relevant, then your deck building choices become meaningless because your entire run will be in the hands of whether you see the right match ups.

Too few decks in a meta stagnate it, but too many trivialize it. The latter actually kills more games than the former.

I used to play magic and hearthstone but haven't really been playing in a while
don't have a game right now
I remember playing some pile of U/W bird synergy way back in high school that I thought was very funny but wasn't very good
Suisei shooting the bench doesn't seem very good but it is funny
I hope there's some kind of cool Ame/Kronii time shenanigans deck whenever she makes it in the game

I still sometimes play MTG Arena, I actually have always preferred Limited formats and Commander over constructed, but I do have some janky standard decks I've put together in Arena.
I'll probably try building a deck around Suichan, but really whatever is fine. Hopefully I can build a Gooba deck one day.
