For starters, you typically don't even get to own your own model and if you graduate you don't get it back because it's owned by the company. You aren't allow to play certain games and you aren't allowed to discuss certain topics because they could upset investors and advertisers, and if you fail to follow these rules you'll be forced to graduate which basically means your options are now either go indie, or pray that another corpo picks you up.
The reason corpfags don't give a shit about indies is because frankly, they aren't the competition. Indies are doing their own thing with their own freedoms so instead it's corpo vs corpo.
