We'll never know what it cost to constract 3-4 days at Kings theater, but they sold out with ticket prices pretty similar to a regular touring band's prices, which probably costs more than what it took to get the girls there and hotelled up and the cost of bringing the gear over. On top of that, they also sold a shit ton of streaming tickets AND those packs of goods related to the concert. The event 100% turned a profit.
As for Sololives, I think you're more on the money for that. A sololive in NA is probably never going to happen because it's a singular talent putting on a performance, which means segnificantly less hardcore fans of all the other talents coming out to watch them. Then you have merch sales and streaming tickets, which also have considerably less people buying. Add in that even when they're doing them in Japan, multiple girls have talked about needing to pay out of pocket for a lot of it. Sololives are a real miney sink and are only done by girls who really really want one, and even then they require a lot of convincing Cover to go along with it as well.
