>>87106186>I spend significantly more time watching indies than I do VShojo. If you're watching EN Indies on Twitch then yeah, you're going to be watching girls who are adjacent to VShojo and that's going to colour your experiences and views by quite a bit. That doesn't even cover the entire spectrum of EN Indies, let alone the Japanese side.
VShojo only had a neutral reputation on the Japanese side but last I checked, it was becoming more and more negative. I haven't been keeping track of it though since last year, so I have no idea what it's like now.
>The people who hate VShojo, or find them controversial, are a very small but loud minority. There's also plenty of people, like myself, who just avoid interacting with them. I don't hate them but their content has absolutely nothing that I want in it.
>your viewpoint is so limitedRefer to the point above
>Especially because VShojo is so heavily ingratiated into the indie sceneOh, so you do sort of realise it, then. Even then, there are plenty of indies who despise the model of VShojo where only those already massive are even considered as potential members.
I'd also point out that a lot of the EN Indie Twitch scene are hoping to ingratiate themselves with VShojo in the hopes of growing their channel and that they might not be wholly as positive towards them as you'd assume. For every Ironmouse, there's a Froot.
Also, as I said earlier, the reputation JP-side is far worse, definitely not helped by how it was viewed as as EN corpo first and foremost. I suspect one of the reasons Kson's viewrship has been declining is her association with it.
