NTA, but the two are not mutually exclusive.
Almost everyone is cutting corners these days, releasing barely functional games and then patching them later, if ever. Said games don't even look like they have more budget than some of the shit released for PS2 (no amount of polygons can hide poor use of assets, terrible animations or primitive AI).
