What actually happened is the traditional "don't be a dumb whore, you won't find a husband" mindset vanished, but also the "women are old by the time they're 25, men are middle aged at 45" type thoughts vanished in favor of equality so you end up with a lot of chicks who get hugely busted while saying they DON'T want/need a husband because they're riding the "my boyfriend will pay for it" express in their teens/20s then enter their 30s and change their mind about husband/kids and then seethe when the money dries up because a 39yo man with a job, a house and a 401k doesn't want to put all that at risk for some chick who showed up on his doorstep one day talking about how much she loves children.
In a certain sense it's the communist "sell them the rope to hang themselves with idea"- if you want to destroy a woman, give her everything she wants with nothing asked in return, she will become an old useless whore.
