He doesn't identify as a vtuber or maintain the image of being one. Cookie realistically has around 1-2M natural subs since becoming a vtuber. She technically gained 4M+ subs since becoming one, but a lot of that growth came from older videos. 1-2M subscribers in 2 years is extremely impressive for an indie with no marketing, hype, leeching or trend-chasing.
