The current CCV is due to the following-
1. He was seen as a traitor by a lot of his former fans. There's a lot of tribalists in the Nijisanji fanbase. Before the Doki fiasco, he (as Kuro) was their favorite punching bag. The Nijisanji fanbase is also more used to YouTube streaming and many were put off by the change in platform and longer and chiller style of streaming.
2. The edgy, generic undead model was a stark difference from his Mysta model.
3. He intentionally took steps to weed out the more toxic and parasocial fans by setting clear boundaries from the get-go.
4. He didn't gain many new viewers from the VShojo community unlike Michi and Mata because he's a male vtuber.
5. He decided to take things slow when he debuted to give himself a break after his time in Niji. He barely networked or did exciting things unlike currently more successful but less entertaining male vtubers such as Shoto.
6. He frequently took breaks and cancelled streams. When viewers are let down this often with no shows, they eventually move on to other things.
Now after his 1 year anniversary and finally paying off the taxes that were weighing him down, he got a new model and aims to be more consistent again.
