>>87397043Ultimately it's those men's fault if they allow themselves to be preyed upon. Nobody is forcing them to give these women money. Almost no vtuber anywhere ever just says
>hey you, usernamefaggot99, give me $100 right nowthey just do it on their own, voluntarily. A lot of vtubers actually feel bad when men give them too much money for no reason. I once donated $100 to Lumi every day for two weeks and she eventually started asking me to donate less money. Some streamers try very hard to treat every donation the same, and give just as much attention to $1 and $5 donations as they do $100 donations.
Whales are fun for a vtuber, but no vtuber really wants her income to be tied to a tiny number of extremely mentally ill men like that. It's much more stable and secure feeling to make $1000 from 200 people donating $5 to you than it is to make $1000 from one person. That one person might leave and then you're left struggling, but if you have a large audience donating then a single person leaving isn't a big deal at all.
I've donated at least $40,000 to a vtuber now (not Lumi, not telling who). I don't think it ever made her very comfortable, and she never asked for it for demanded it in any way. I just did it. It's hard to explain why. I felt like it was something I was able to do, and that made me feel good.
