>>8778311long short:
a manager at cover, who many or may not have been the one to ask cover to scout her in the first place (as mel was scouted - she didn't audition) became her manager and would insist on holding looong ass pointless meetings at cover hq deep into the night, dragging out inconsequential things and making mel very uncomfortable by keeping her there for hours "just to talk" and with her being japanese and a woman it was difficult to be assertive and just tell her manager to fuck off
mel's a very pretty girl so it's no wonder she'd attract any guy let alone a creep that had his dream girl in his power - the very worst kind of creature abusing his position - and he probably thought he was being charming lmao
finally rebuking his creepy and clumsy advances the guy's obsession turned to hatred, as if oft does in such cases, and he began an anonymous online harassment campaign against her which was made worse because he knew her physical address
cover only got off their asses to do something when mel presented a letter from a lawyer, a very last resort in japanese society mind you as the place is not litigious willy nilly like how america is and would much prefer to sweep shit under the rug and forget about it
hence the expression
>poor mel she only decided to come back and not graduate because of her fans begged her not to leave
that's why mel doesn't stream so frequently: she's probably got a lot of well earned leeway with cover to shirk the 3-stream per week "minimum" most of the others have to adhere to
reminder that only a handful of years ago cover was a handful of geeks playing around with tech
they've had to do a lot of learning in regards to managing a business, let alone something that's akin to an idol agency handling talents
