>>87747658I ended up getting this "whatever" feeling from both the original and the remake in regards to enemies. In the original they were taken down quickly with the shotgun and the nearly limitless ammo you had. In the remake they have identifiable patterns to fight with melee and are still weak to the shotgun/rifle (even with less ammo around this time).
The atmosphere in SH2 and the remake is absolutely carrying the game for sure, but I don't think the enemies are necessarily a bad thing. I felt like combat was acceptable in the original and it's actually pretty enjoyable in the remake.
Does it make James come across as a pretty efficient killing machine? Sure. Is it a problem for the sake of having fun? No, not at all. Pretty sure SH1, 3, and 4 all had dodges built into them, so this is just another version of that for the remake. I think once Biboo realizes she can just beat the shit out of all the enemies once she learns the patterns, she'll be pretty comfortable outside of the occasional mannequin catching her off guard.
Or maybe she'll get motion sick because she's using a fucking controller, who knows.
