penguin heist is currently gaining popularity quick and the dev found some clever marketing strats he even shared with the other hopeful souls there.

I don't know if she follows the official run rules (when to start the timer, delete save game before every run etc.) but if she does, her current PB of 1:20:48 would but her on 77th place. The world record is way out of reach at 1:02:57 but I could see her shaving 5-10 minutes off if she gets a good run without dying. I don't know if the people with better scores than her also use any glitches or strategies that she does not, though.

According to speedrun.com, there are two G-Route categories based on version:

Assuming that she's playing the latest version, is possible but her current record doesn't even place her in the top 200. Oddly enough the game is highly competitive, she'd need to scratch at least 10 minutes to reach top 100.

Isn't it the other way around? She'd be 77th on the latest version and not even top 200 on the older one. I'd assume she is playing the newest version, but I don't think there is a way for us to know for sure.

playing it now myself. it's come a long way from her first playthrough and just got a major update changing around several core functions like sprint mechanics and ghost interactions

it's also leaned away from piss easy and is now quite unforgiving, since now the ghosts can remember your last location and search around the area, meaning if they see you and you run into a room they just phase into it and assfuck you

She's not competing for the world record, she just wants to beat her personal best. But I supposed she's passed the point where she put too much effort into this to approach it casually. That said, those seconds might not be worth the frustration all those resets brings her if the RNG keeps screwing with her. She's got two big obstacles at the end that might ruin her run if she's too irritated.

We'll see how it turns out.

I mean yeah, but she kind of needs the time she could save especially because she is prone to choke in the end. Even with choking like four times on Sans the other day she was only four minutes behind her previous PB. If she gains two minutes early then she can afford to lose to Sans once or twice and still have a shot at her record. It's definitely worth optimizing the little stuff so she can afford more mistakes later.

i couldn't focus for the whole stream, did she not get all of the snowman pieces, quiche, noodles, and pie? i get not going out of your way for all of them, but id expect you to save them until Sans if you get any. she had more healing items too that would've saved her even if they only get 15hp or somehting

the noodles are one of the best healing items, i think theyre full hp revives in genocide, but they only heal like 4hp and has a long time to take in non-G route. Maybe she doesn't know the noodles heal you that much and you eat them faster in G?

No, she seems to know what she was doing with the healing items, she was just not performing great during the fight. She only picked up these two items and saved them for the Sans fight. She used the shitty heal early in the fight when she was very low on HP and when she got back down she used the full heal. She was saying she was considering rerouting a tiny bit next run to pick up one more healing item to ensure a safer first try Sans kill.

Unfortunately I think the run is over. Even though her time is still great, going back to get the third healing item she forgot fucked up her composure, she is way twitchy and nervous now, no way she will get a good Sans fight like that, unfortunately. Yeah, saw that coming from a mile away. I'm feeling confident about her abilities, though. She only fucked up because getting the third healing item was a new strategy she didn't have to do before so she skipped it out of habit. The rest of the run was near flawless. If she can stay focused I'm sure she can break her PB soon.

Just caught up to her run, I apparently fell asleep in Snowfield. It was actually a fairly mediocre run, way worse than the other two she did yesterday, but it was saved by an impeccable Sans fight. If she manages to reach Sans with the same pace she has been consistently doing in the runs before, there's still like 3 minutes to be shaved off before she starts to change her strategy, I'd say.

As far as I know she is done with the game, she finished the main campaign and the circus DLC, is there anything else? She said she wants to run Hollow Knight after she is satisfied with her Undertale time because she got curious after seeing some run at RTA Japan. She dosent know much about the strategy yet though. Her immediate goal is getting a sub 1:10 for Undertale first anyway, though. She said she wants to achieve that goal by the end of the year if possible.

Yes there's the godmaster dlc which is actually the hardest part of the game and the Path of Pain which is the second hardest.
However, none of those is required to speedrun the normal ending.

Agree, I can't see this as anything but a nice gesture. She makes an effort for sure, she keeps reading simple English comments she can understand, she does the foreign greetings thing sometimes etc. I also remember her saying the two designs were more of a suggestion than a guideline and everyone is free to "use" and arrange whichever they prefer.

After the stream drought in July she sure was spoiling us in August, yeah. I'm a bit sad the morning activities are almost over, they've become a real daily routine, but I hope she keeps streaming a lot for us anyway. I recall her saying yesterday she might keep doing the occasional morning streams once August is over, anyway.

She has been motivating my reps eve r since I started watching her, too. Glad you guys are being inspired to do so, as well.

Okayu I would say is pretty much the best 'learn Japanese' streamer.
There is an extent though that in any language exposure practice, you simply won't always understand. You aren't even supposed to always understand. It's the parts that you can't catch and don't understand that end up, in the long run of language learning, being the most valuable learning experiences. For example, you don't understand an expression from the stream and then later on you find that same expression in studying vocab or grammar you can, consciously or unconsciously, make that connection with what you were exposed to previously. It's all down to practice practice practice (and immersion).

According to Des. P. TLs, she was talking about visiting the graves of deceased family members and urging the viewers to at least occasionally pray to theirs, if a visitation is not possible. This happened after she described the peculiar circumstances of the death of a boyfriend of a friend of hers.
What I got from this is that
Fubuki likes to honor the dead and may be superstitious/religious in the Japanese sense.

I honestly don't even watch any other chuubas on a regular basis anymore. Keep watching lots of FBK and you will get used to her regular vocabulary and way of speaking. Zatsudans like today are always more difficult because anecdotes like that contain a lot of random vocabulary you might be unfamiliar with. Anyway, try watching lot of subtitled Japanese context (with pause to look up and mine stuff with Yomichan) in addition to train yourself, it really helps. You'll have a much larger vocabulary and be more familiar with the way different kind of people/characters talk.

That's true. Any exposure helps you learn either new things or fortify whatever you already know. A random example is the expression あっという間に, I randomly mined that from Gundam 79 at some point and soon after I learned it I noticed FBK is using that expression multiple times almost every single stream. I must have just filtered it out as something I didn't understand before that, but once I acquired it, encountering it over and over again fortified it to the point where I will never forget it. This happened with dozens of words and expressions as well. You just need to put in the time (reps, immersion, streams) and you will get better over time!

I don't think it's like that. I do feel she has gotten closer to her audience and has gotten a little looser with personal stuff, but I wouldn't jump to any conclusions from that. But I still think she was quite a bit more open than she tends to be today. She rarely talks about real life friends or family (other than 兄狐) and she's previously always kind of avoided the Kuro Live2D question. Her answer was vague this time too, but at least she acknowledged that there are reason why it's probably not happening instead of just saying "that'd be nice yeah". It's nice that she has been less reserved lately.

Pretty impressive, much better than what like Sora and Miko have on our side. That EOP auto subtitle thing is pretty neat too, obviously not completely accurate but it's been doing fine within the few minutes I watched. I wonder why Holos don't have that either of these two technologies.

The auto translate is incredibly hit or miss, it has patches of being pretty spot on and then patches of being nowhere near close. And then you have someone like Ars where I think the one time she tested it out it could barely understand what she was saying.

That technology was probably made for normal human voices and not people doing cutesy anime voices, so it'd really depend on the Tuber if that kind of thing works or not. But yeah, it's two layers of unreliable technology, speech recognition and machine translation, so the fact that it was even remotely accurate for a few minutes was impressive to me, I expected it to be utter shit.
