>>87817017More Indies and the reasons for graduation are different to successful corpo VTubers as mostly in the picture.
The best model to explain most graduations is "Maslow's hierarchy of needs".
If we look at the high level corpo VTubrs that graduated, they have most of their needs fulfilled and are highly individualistic people. Thus they are in the process of finding self-actualization. (To an extent there is also a mix of the company not fulfilling their other needs well enough, e.g. Coco being treated the way she was definitely hampered the ability of the company to fulfil her need for belonging, which is a level lower than self-actualization)
Same model can be applied to Indies. You often see financial reasons for simply giving up due to lack of popularity, etc.
That being said for popular Indies their Indie career can be shaped by them, thus they can reshape it to fulfill the level of need they are currently on. (Due to owning their IP). In a company this is not possible, because the company is a lot more static in what need-fulfillment it offers.
Also all anons arguing "It's dumb to leave, because e.g. she gets a lot of money". You views in this case are different, because you view it from the perspective of someone who has the need of money (fairly low level on the Pyramid), but you need to look at this from someone who is on a high level on the Pyramid of needs.
That being said the model itself is fairly flawed from a scientific perspective, because here are too many exceptions and it simplifies too much, but I find it a good simplification to remind oneself that there are differences in what people want.
