>>8826995This is funny, because you are equal parts right and wrong, wrong because people who know Niji will tell you that NijiEn is pretty Niji-like, especially nowadays, (JPs certainly seem to think that from what I have seen) and right because to the general western market who doesn't know much about Niji, that's exactly the image NijiEN has, especially during their start.
Anycolor didn't really do much to differentiate NijiEN from Hololive at the start, they played too safe, even stuff like giving them a debut song didn't do much to show they were different, since, to a large part of the western community, cute girls dancing and singing=idols and Hololive=idols, so if anything the impression that they were just HololiteEN became bigger, there were, and probably still are, people who thought Lazulight were idols, even after they denied it, which goes to show how much that first impression affected the west's perception of NijiEN, which isn't surprising, first impressions are VERY important, so it's no wonder that what

The girls have been doing a pretty good job at showing that they are different from HoloEN (Finana especially has been doing a great at that) and showing what Niji is like and presenting Niji to the west, but it will be a good while before that image leaves them completely and they are able to truly show to the general public that they ARE different and have something distinc to offer and begin to pull new audience and expand the market.
