kson was up to the task because she speaks English just fine - mike, or rather nazuna back then, absolutely does not. most Japanese are taught at least some English in school but they usually are not tasked to ever need to use it in day to day life so it deteriorates fast beyond the ability to read/pronounce the words (which actually can be a bit useful for them since English lettering is common all over including in Japan).
even so, she could have tried to make it work but as we all can well see she always has these unrealistic expectations of herself and is a black hole of constant coping and seething after getting herself kicked out of Holo.
