When they moved in together, they've made up some bulllshit about having too weak internet to stream both at the same time, so they started alternating days. I don't believe this was a genuine reason, but her making that decision finally freed her from having those cycles, and she stopped having those burnouts. Then she said she talked with some shrink and that she decided to slow down things a bit, which is probably the main reason she left vshojo. Even when you watch her current content, she's basically taking on only a supportive role for Aethel. That butt-slapping stream was a rare exception reminiscent of her old stuff (and it was great).
It's hard to tell how much her numbers dropping had to do with Aethel, with halving her streaming time and how much it was deliberate backing off. I honestly don't believe the main reason was losing her unicorns because of Aethel - she didn't really have that kind of a crowd in the first place, at least not so strong as other waifu baiting vtubers.
