I still remember the day when I found out about nijiIN. I was like why the fuck they opened a vtuber branch in a country who doesn't know what anime is and only watch pubgm streams. They don't even give chance to streamers to plays other games. I only find like 10 15 Indians in the chat

I remember showing up for Noor's debut she was completely unprepared and didn't seem to give a shit so I never bothered watching her again. People they didn't get an EN audience because anycolor didn't promote them And the IN name but Hana managed to get pretty popular despite being ID, I think they failed just because they sucked basically.

I've had a few IN friends who were into anime and as far as I can tell it's because of the whole overt caste system that's literally illegal but is still widely practice. The more they're distanced from it the more they're accepting of anime, but the closer they are/were to it the more foreign anime seems

People like to put the blame on the big conglomerate, and whilst Anycolor could have handled them better, it's not like they didn't try and just left them to die. As mentioned, I think they just misjudged the potential audience of India, and couldn't really salvage their poor performance with a haphazard rebranding.
