For a very insecure small-feeling person that looks to others as a relative reference point, losing your niche leaves you questioning if you're even needed and why you should bother doing anything. Compound that with having already reached the top anyways, and I can easily see her having been railroaded into a sort of midlife "what am I even doing" analogue crisis. But she also knows she'll probably never have a better career anywhere else; how does one compete with becoming a multimedia sensation for being a creative?
I'd like to be wrong but that's what it looks like to me. I want to give her a hug and maybe some vodka.
