This is different though, Cover is fully aware that Nijisanji views Doki as the spawn of Satan so there's no plausible deniability in the world that could shield them from the implication that they're "siding" with her and against Nijisanji.
It is simply a step too far.
That being said even if I'm wrong, there is still the simple explanation of HoloEN management treating the branch with "kids gloves" (something the EN's themselves have admitted using that exact phrasing). They aren't allowed to be near anything remotely controversial.
