They know coming out "officially" as a guy will hurt them viewership and support wise, and not even due to the past drama. Yes, anyone with a brain knows it's a guy, but there's honestly probably just as many if not more that believe he's a girl, that much was evident when people thought they were actually mute and the same topic about them being a girl or not came up.
It's a shitty place to be, but they did that to themselves during the VRChat era. It's hard to come out of when your brand is build around not using your voice.
