>>88977200>I genuinely don't understand what she wants. A group of friends? More money?Sayu HATES being an indie and feels she needs to be part of something bigger, something she can see as important or popular. It’s not that she doesn’t appreciate her indie friends or her current community, it’s more that she thinks that this is the only thing she can is good at, so she wants a successful career, to go pro, and to focus on things like voice acting (which she’s actually quite good at btw) and content creation (this is the reason why she started doing IRL stuff again). The problem is that she doesn’t really have the work discipline to handle all of this herself, and realistically, she doesn’t earn enough to hire a proper manager to take care of it, so she feels her best shot is joining an agency. And to be fair, that’s not a bad plan at all. The issue here is that Sayu doesn't want to join any agency, it has to be one that meets all her demands:
>Complete control over her own IP>No cut on donations (assuming we can take her word on this)>Handling all her merch logistics>Support to kick-start her voice acting gigs...and whatever other stuff her lawyer put in the contract to make sure she's covered and protected against anything. And as far as we know, NOA seems to be the only agency that has agreed to all her terms.
The signs about NOA's competence have been clear for a while now: debuts were leaked before the talents even signed contracts, some of those talents turned them down, others quit afterward, and the person who recruited Sayu left, saying NOA was a black company and that se regretted "tricking" people into joining. Despite all that, Sayu is still moving forward, so it seems safe to assume she believes this is her only shot at going pro
