Serious question, but why is this board so hostile towards independent VTubers, even the more successful ones with large followings? Do they see them as a threat to the current monopolies that they've entrenched as a reality? Do they feel threatened that there's more than just certain bubbles and sooner or later they'll have to venture outside of it at some point? This isn't to pick any sides for tribalism nor is it meant to downplay any corporate VTuber or fanbase outside of this board in any way possible, but I just don't understand why the hostile attitude towards any independent VTuber, no matter how big or small they may be. At the end of the day, they all love being VTubers, no matter where they are right now, and the number of concurrent viewers honestly don't have to mean everything. Have we failed optics to the point that everything has to be about numbers and anything remotely outside the basic norms are a "threat" to any status quo right now? VTubers are all friends behind the scenes, why view those who are doing this for themselves as the enemies?
