>>89105680Gura has no reason to stay in Hololive anymore. The only reason Gura remained in Hololive up to this point was for 3 reasons, and they're all gone.
1: Music is one of her biggest passions ever. Aside from the obvious of her being a self taught incredible singer. The stuff she was making on her PL was her dicking around yes, but she also showed a genuinely good understanding of how to write music. That's why her songs exploded in popularity, they were actually catchy and memorable. And then there's also that when she does karaoke she literally connects (or tries to connect) emotionally to the lyrics she sings. She actually places value on writing her own lyrics. That's why there's such an insanely stark contrast between Reflect and every other music project she's ever worked on (oh yeah remember when she said she had 5 fucking original song ideas in Feb 2021). Fuck dude, she literally had a stream where she made her own song from a pre-existing BGM just like her PL.
Her deep passion for making music has been insulted and undermined by staff countless times, forcing her to make compromises with stuff like her ENTIRELY SELF FUNDED Anime OP (which she probably got sick of, hence her not using it anymore), Full Color (which even THAT can't get an official release), and her original with Marine (which actually turned out really well but she's just reduced to a cameo, like Kiara in Takamori).
2: Her dream, ever since she was a child, was to perform in 3D on stage like Hatsune Miku. She achieved that dream in 2022. And not only did she achieve it. Her explosion in popularity, on top of achieving that, has led to her arguably having an impact as large as Hatsune Miku in the Vtuber sphere. She is THE most famous Vtuber in the world. She achieved her dream in the best way possible. And then on top of that, in 2023 she got to achieve it together with her genmates, senpais and kouhais. There was a point where she "preferred the idol/3D Live side of Hololive", but that time has long passed. Also even when she did prefer the idol side of hololive to streaming, she still streamed consistently LMAO. Now harking back to "she got to achieve it together with her genmates, senpais and kouhais", that factors into the final and most important reason she sticks around. And is the reason she makes so many compromises.
3: If you watched her streams from 2020-2022, you'd know that she would never shut up about how much she loved her friends. And that's why, for the longest time, it looked like she would never go back to her PL. Back then she was in a terrible place mentally and her "friends" weren't any help. Every claim that she still cares about them can be disproven by her referring to Sep 2020 to Sep 2021 as "the best year of my life". Going from having no one to connect with to having Myth was beyond emotionally overwhelming to her. And then to add sugar to the cake, she got to talk to the very Vtubers that inspired her. She got to talk to, and become friends with, her own heroes. And then on top of THAT, she got to experience what it's like to inspire others and be a senpai herself.
Getting to form so many bonds and be an inspiration that others look to? There was no fucking way she would give that up.
But now lately? Things have changed. Maybe it's because Cover has increased her workload (to the point where it's prevented her from hanging out with Myth on multiple occasions) but I don't know.
However we can see that; She's leaving Kiara on read, has zero interest in Advent and Justice outside large collab interactions (a MASSIVE contrast to how she reacted when Council debuted), and of course she isn't streaming + refusing collabs outside of exceptions (which is where she has her best chance to get to know other talents and connect with them)
And now finally that brings us to what is probably the straw that has broken the camels back. Her kami oshi and her closest friend have now left.
With her intense workload, her health problems, the assurance that Myth will always be friends even outside of Hololive, I think it's clear that while she can still keep making friends in Hololive, the same can be said for outside of Hololive. But this time, she'll also be able to be herself.
People say that "her becoming an indie again won't make her stream again" and that's partly true. Becoming the same indie with the unhealthy mind and body? Yeah she wont stream. But an indie with a healthy schedule/workload, freedom to express herself and have good emotional support? The passion she's always had for streaming (which she literally highlighted in that last Amesame collab) will come back in full force.
