Eternal feels like some of the levels in Plutonia like Tombstone or Ghost Town in which you get out of the starting area, get into a fight, and you need to keep moving since monsters are crawling everywhere. Certain weak points were great as well, like the Mancubus cannons, Arachnatron turret, using plasma on energy shields, and so on. Glad the game has some decent movement with dashing so I guess that is a compromise with the run speed.
