The real reason, by the way why she started this nothingburger so at this time specifically is the same reason she went on to JP server for the first time in a year in the first place:
The EN and JP servers are being linked, and Gura has realised that her complacency at interacting with her JP senpais kind of has no more room for excuses. Bashful as she is, she is getting help from the only JP she has a very good relationship with (and pre-emptively going on to the JP server) to proactively intergrate herself into the wider JP community before the merge so it's not so awkward. Notice thehuge uptick in the JPs talking about Gura this past week. Either they can tell what's happening and are trying to help, or Shion let them know and they are trying to help.
Why Gura specifically? Because, as you know, Gura is the only one in all of Hololive who has taken absolutely ZERO steps to reach out to the JPs. She's been here a YEAR now has STILL not done a SINGLE one on one JP collab, not even with Haachama/Coco/Suisei or anyone that would be able to hang with the language barrier (which, by the way, shouldn't be such a big deal, since she did the Nacho collab), while everyone else in EN has done multiple.
So once again, this is a complete nothingburger, and Gura is still in love with me
