It means there is a spectrum - a more accurate word would be range - of different types of autism. A 'high functioning' autistic person does NOT mean 'person who is a normie and just barely autistic.' It means 'an autistic person whose autistic behaviors manifest in a way that doesn't impair them too much and/or they can manage/hide their autism enough to fit in.'
Mumei has a lot of other weird behaviors, tics and ways of expressing things (and things she's related in her past) that are definitely not fucking normal and make her seem very autist-y.
I feel like people on here who says shit like 'Mumei is totally normal' have just forgotten what actual normal people are like and just don't leave their houses or some shit
