>>90323008Anon, bear with me for a moment, because I’m not trying to bully you or attack Sayu, but I want to be as upfront as possible: I think you've gotten too close to Sayu. Being parasocial is normal in this kind of industry, but there’s a difference between wanting to support a funny anime girl and being there for her when she needs her fans, and feeling depressed about her reputation and not even being able to share her content with someone else because you see everyone else as a possible enemy
There are hundreds of small vtubers who work their asses off every single day, grind non stop, have dozens of VODs with no views, and they’re posting shorts and clips every week on twitter and reddit, crying a river when they see any of their handful of fans trying to promote them. And these vtubers don’t even have a fraction of the fanbase Sayu has. Even after everything that’s happened, Sayu is one of the lucky ones
You’re talking about Sayu like she’s this pitiful girl everyone hates who can barely do anything without being knocked down, but the truth is, she’s a very well-off person. She has plenty of friends, is about to move to a bigger place, has had the chance to join multiple companies, and even got one of them to meet all her terms and have her lawyer draft her own contract. And it’s not some random company either, it has ties with Mihoyo, right?
And yet, from the way you talk about her, anyone reading these threads would think she’s a failure at everything, constantly being dragged down, and one step away from giving up. That’s insane, and it really shows how deep the echo chamber in your community has become
Before writing this, I’ve been checking out twitter and multiple subreddits, and no one gives a single fuck about Sayu. There’s no discussion about her. None. Not even from random sisters. Drama attracts people, so of course, it’s easier to shitpost about someone when they’re an easy target, just look at Mike. But aside from random and weird meltdowns, Sayu is completely off the radar for everyone. No one’s even talking about her recent debut
Sayu just debuted, has a new model, has genmates, and a lot of plans for the future. You guys should be out there, trying to get everyone to watch her, sharing her content proudly with everyone. Instead, the only thing you’re doing, by your own admission, is keeping to yourselves on your private discord and coming here to argue with random people who just want to get a reaction out of you
Look, I know this isn’t your job either, and you have no obligation to promote her, but this is why I said you’ve gotten too close to her: you can’t see her as a content creator anymore. You’re too attached, and it’s clouding your ability to see the full picture. You should be able to enjoy her content and post it everywhere without feeling "depressed" or like you need to "give up" just because people aren’t immediately flocking to Sayu’s content. If you can’t do that, then there’s a problem
And I'll repeat myself again: No one gives a fuck about Sayu. Even her rants barely get any attention here nowadays. These threads have only been hitting the bump limit because enough anons (myself included) wanted to talk about her and have some sort of discussion. Do you think shitposters like this one
>>90330883 care about an actual discussion? They just dump their crap and move on, hoping to have caught something with their bait when they return. You CAN have a discussion about her here, on twitter and even on reddit. If someone tries to shitpost, you can ignore them and keep the conversation going. You CAN share her content. But it takes actual effort, and you have to accept that maybe some people won’t be interested in her. At the same time, others might think she’s worth checking out. This industry is insanely hard, and it takes a ton of luck and effort to make it. And even so, again, Sayu is one of the lucky ones. She just needs a push and to stop dragging herself down
The other option is for you guys to just sit around, feel sorry for yourselves, hope Sayu gets mentally better on her own, and somehow magically becomes popular out of nowhere. And if that’s what you choose, you’d be much happier staying inside /corpo/ and avoiding every Sayu bait thread in the catalog. You’re not doing Sayu any favors parading her around as the ultimate pariah
>tl;dr: The text points out that Sayu's fans have become too personally invested in her, which makes it hard for them to see her as a content creator. While Sayu has faced challenges, she's still in a much better position than many smaller vtubers who struggle to gain attention. The author urges fans to stop focusing on defending her from criticism and instead put more effort into promoting her content and supporting her publicly. It emphasizes that the vtubing industry is tough, and Sayu just needs a push, but responding to negative comments or wallowing in self-pity won’t help her grow.Anyway, good luck anon
