In paper it's expensive, and whatever format you like is functionally a rotating (ie you will have to buy a new deck to keep up with the meta) one.
The online version (arena) is pure self hatred.
I still keep up with it because the cards are a good way to explore fantast concepts but it's really really not worth the pain of playing it
