Something doesn’t make sense, and I really hope some anons can help me clear my thoughts.
What’s going on with some of these talents stepping away from Hololive and citing a supposed change in the direction of the company? What direction is Cover actually going in? They haven’t done anything significantly different in the last four years. While concerts and events are getting bigger, that’s to be expected—it’s not like they started as a small company that didn’t already organize annual big concerts. Since 2021, Hololive has been producing massive concerts, and the only reason they didn’t have a big venue in 2021 was due to COVID. Currently, they host one annual FES, one big concert, and every talent gets one yearly anniversary concert. This has been the norm for JP talents for the last four years, and it doesn’t seem likely to change anytime soon.
The argument about idols being overworked doesn’t really hold up when you consider:
>Mumei leaves for a couple of months and comes back saying that Hololive allowed her to take a break.
>Shion and Ayame take several months of vacation every year.
>Gura streams only 12 times a year, or sometimes even less.
It’s clear that talents are allowed to take long breaks.
Additionally, the company’s direction hasn’t changed from its roots. They continue to focus on big events, and no major shift or merger with the homos has occurred. The China situation was a massive flop, and not a single talent has been forced to suck chink cocks on stream.
Not gonna lie, but when you look at what previous talents have done after leaving Hololive—claiming the company’s direction didn’t align with their goals—and then continuing to do exactly what they were doing in Hololive after going independent, it says a lot about the talents rather than the company.
At this point, I’m more inclined to believe this is a talent issue, not a company issue. That said, I’m seeking some input from this board to help me sort out my feelings on the matter.
Thanks, anons.
