Fast forward a bit and she's popular and getting corporate deals for mass merchandise production and distribution. This eventually caught the attention of the model's creator who had no idea about Filian's existence because it's some Asian person who doesn't follow the EN scene at all. This lead to a halt in production of a planned merch line. Things eventually got sorted out which likely means Filian paid the creator some money to have them shut up because International court cases are extremely time-consuming and expensive to get involved in and neither one of them want to touch that.
To this day Filian still hasn't bothered getting a new model she can actually call her own. She's using a generic stock vrm model that she stole which is a big no-no in the vtuber scene because you generally get royally shit on for stealing from honest artists/animators/modelers/etc but because she's big and is part of the "indie" circlejerk she got away with it. Everyone just looked the other way until heat died down.
Vedal is an example of what not to do. Neuro originally used a stock model but as soon as she started getting popular and became profitable he commissioned a new model for her. Still similar in appearance to keep her identity but with enough changes that he could legally call her his own property. Filian could have easily done this at any point over the past several years but she chose not to because she's just that proud of the fact that she's using a stolen model. If a true indie tried to take this approach they would be dogpiled by the community but because it was Filian she's protected.
