i don't think they can or should just build the roster list infinitely, there has to be a certain amount of people leaving after this many years and growing the roster this much.
we've been lucky so far really - only Aqua was really a core representative of the "idol" side, and A-chan as a great on-screen staff member. the rest aren't really suited or interested in it, or just had huge health concerns like Chloe.
it makes me think, maybe Hololive should have have a true sub-division. not like the meaningless DEV_is, i mean like why can't some members focussing on just being a game streamer, or coming up with creative weird projects like Ame? they are still going to absolutely rake in mountains of merch money for your company from simps (self-confessed). it's clearly not suited to some members like Ina and Fauna, but they can still be an asset.
it's kind of autistic how they want the exact same thing from every member.
