Basically Grimmi was part of a streamer talent agency called MSM talent. MSM talent had many huge name indie vtubers like Geega (they were her agents outside of Vshojo), Numi, Yuzu, Vienna, Lord Aethelstan, Buffpup (and all of VICHIBAN), Lucy Pyre plus some flesh streamers in it, all in all about 40+ talents. This group controlled a lot of their merch through their own webstore and a lot of the vtuber's outside ventures for them too.
In Grimmi's case, she had the idea she wanted to make branded Vtuber hotsauce. The owner of MSM talent, Seth Weinstein (no I am not joking that's his actual name), offered to help her set up the company as an equal partner, which at the time she agreed to. Unfortunately for Grimmi, a pissed off fan of Lucy Pyre in lig who was upset after Lucy ranted about how Seth told her he couldn't get her a specific sponsor looked up MSM talent's records and it turns out MSM talent was in forfeiture with the state of maryland for unpaid taxes going back 4 years and Seth was a known Con man who was dodging multiple civil lawsuits, with a history of ripping pretty much everyone he ever worked with off. MSM eventually collapsed after this revelation plus the discovery Seth was actively engaging in blacklisting of rival talent agencies 3am and Mythic Talent from conventions by using lies he made up about those group's talents, and Grimmi got stuck holding the back for the Hot Sauce company. She had to get a lawyer invovled and have Seth bought out, but he didn't tell her during the buy out that he had sold the hotsauce inventory to Novel Horizons, whom he owed money to, who liquidated it, leaving Grimmi in huge debt and with a Hot sauce company that had no hot sauce. She's since re-opened the business with her own hotsauce stock.
