Honestly seems the closest to what happened in my head. Fits with how pissed Fauna was, and how the other ENs seemed generally fine with what was basically a professional disagreement for a single talent, if sad about the outcome, while some conceded Cover's direction being at the very least inflexible in some way. And JP holos basically shrugged since they didn't really understand the fuss; the studio being a simple train/taxi commute away for them.

It's not a ragebaiting rrat though.

Shit like this is exactly why Biboo moved. Even the dogs moving makes sense when you consider the support Irys, Calli and Bae by being based in Japan. Though this also means that the other talent are in a more precarious position.

You can prolly pin the monies wasted on metaverse BS on him, but otherwise Hololive was always on borrowed time. Considering what could have happened, the current deal is actually pretty alright. It's been well documented Yagoo's been successfully shielding the holos from a lot of investor BS, and he's got the shares to keep doing it.

I don't follow Fauna so the only thing I hear is that she has a lot of issues with being away from home that makes being able to WFH permanently a top priority. I mean, she proved that she'd resign over it. (Granted, her dedicated fanbase is among the largest in HoloEN and a lot more likely to follow her to her PL, so there's less downside for her to leave.)

If anything living in JP and streaming at NA hours means a healthier sleep schedule for most of the members who are starting their streams between 8 and 10 AM JST while longer streams that start in the evening local time easily go past midnight.

From what I heard EN members have to go to Japan up to four times a year for recording shit. It's a 12 hour flight from west coast to Japan so in 1 year a chuuba has to spend near a 100 hours of flight (probably more if they don't live on the west coast) and all the stress of moving your equipment and adjusting your sleep schedule, I can see why Fauna dug her heels in.

Matsuri has said in the past that Hololive is a place where someone(on an individual basis) can do as much or as little as they want there. This is still kinda supported in the sense that many Holo members either stopped streaming for months, but that could just mean they're working while on those streaming breaks.
But then there are talents who literally come out from their hiatus and say they were just goofing around and going to disneyland everyday. It also doesn't even sound like they're lying either.

I'm highly suspicious of cover, but this one time I'm gonna play devil's advocate
Some people are inherent, natural born cave dwellers (like me), and despise going outside for ANY reason, and feel extremely uncomfortable and nauseous being too far from home, as another example, it took me really, really long to calm down enough to properly learn to drive and not panic and deathgrip the wheel whenever I have to drive to/through somewhere I'm unfamiliar with. This may manifest in other people with more or less intensity
Fauna's case might be the same, where'd she'd try to comply the first time but it was just too nauseating to be a whole continent apart from home
That said, I dont know jack about fauna, but those are my five cents, some people REALLY hate not being at home and tourism shit

Legally, this is correct. Japan has made it that you cannot be forced to work overtime. But they are absolutely shit at enforcing that, and thanks to bullshit collectivism, no one blows the whistle, even if you do manage to muscle the courage to say no. Worse, in order to not break the OTHER law about the maximum amount of overtime, you are pressured into not recording that you actually were working overtime.

No, Kiara made it clear that every expenses on Cover-mandated trips are covered by the company. That's why she decided to move her 3D recording to 2025 so she could do it on mandatory trip (she initially booked it in Nov but since there wasn’t any Cover mandated trip, she'd have to pay the flight and living expenses herself)

I get the feeling that you CAN.... but why would you WANT to? Unless you have a health/family/emergency issue. Fes is like 2 weeks of recording for a show that makes a significant chunk of the company's revenue and probably has good kickbacks per talent. If a girl with 1M subs and 150,000 active fans can draw even 5% of them to Fes for the company, why wouldn't someone want to do that? Haachama was notably absent, but that was due to health and break issues, not just skipping out.

People are misinterpreting what she said entirely. Her issue is not even going to another country, her issue is she gets lonely easily. And because she's in Japan, her foundation, her parents, aren't easily accessible when she gets real big bouts of loneliness in the middle of the day while she's waiting to do whatever she needs to do.

She doesn't like being too far away from her parents, she doesn't like being too far away from her cat. She does not mind doing it in short bursts, like for a week to record, but if she has to stay for months then it becomes a problem.
