I don't want to pre-pay now because, though I'll apply for all, my preference for stages goes

The expo was personally underwhelming and I wouldn't want to have paid for 2 days when I'd only want 1 and even then probably wouldn't stay all that long if it was dull.
If I get my least preferred stage + same day expo I might not bother booking a flight, room etc.
Hence my question.
