>>91008042The fact that she literally was on a separate continent during the first couple years of her career likely has something to do with it. That and her just being an isolated kind of person who doesn't always function well in groups. I know that's not a complete explanation since she's hardly the only socially awkward holomem, but "social awkwardness" means different things for different people.
This is a total guess, but I think Chammers might be the type who feels like she needs a reason to suggest a collab, or even to just message someone in the first place. She wouldn't message someone just to say "hi" or suggest collabing as a simple means of hanging out, she would wait until she has an idea she's satisfied with. She benefits from other members reaching out to her instead, but the other issue is that she doesn't really "seem" shy. Holos who would go out of their way to include someone like Aqua in things (not just collabs, but irl hangouts) might not realize that Chammers would benefit from the same kind of help. I'm sure that was more relevant 4+ years ago than it is now, but that and Australia are why Chammers never found herself in a consistent group in the early days, and that's still being felt now. She has plenty of good friends in Hololive at this point, but there's little crossover between them. Even the units she's in rely on her being proactive in getting them together; we know karASHi works like that, and I'd bet that ChamaTanNanora and Cooking Club are the same.
Of course, I can't act like she really wants to collab all the time and just has trouble setting them up. Another contributing factor (maybe even the bigger one) is that she prefers being a solo act much of the time. And not just in the obvious introvert "this could be a collab but I don't feel like it" way; some of her biggest content mines have had solo-ness baked into them. The common thread between Haachama Cooking, Minecraft megastructures, and lore streams is that they all came straight out of her head with little planning: no recipe, no blueprints, no script. That's not conducive to a typical collab where both people understand what's going on. She made it work for cooking in a few different ways, but it's not surprising that she rarely did collabs with the other two.
The fact that she was able to cement herself as "the weird one" — as impressive as that is in a company full of weirdos — has also contributed to her feeling like her own thing within the company. It's a bit like the old Sora problem: she has such a particular presence that she can make any interaction feel like an event without necessarily meaning to. While other holos can feel like main or supporting characters in group collabs, thus cementing themselves as fixtures of the group, Chammers is like the character of the episode who occasionally appears in the background of future episodes.
She did a good job of pushing herself to be the initiator after returning from her hiatus, but that energy has fizzled out by now. If that's due to her getting back to normal and deciding she doesn't need to collab that often, then that's fine. I just hope she learned not to be afraid of reaching out, and that going back to her old ways doesn't make her unlearn it.
