>>91194573Yeah, but the company has all but officially abandoned the western markets anyway. To them, we're ballast; dead weight; an albatross which serves no practical purpose.
From their point of view, it's the western fans who are in the wrong for not approving of their handling of Selen:
>they published a termination notice, which is an industry standard action>they had three of the EN livers do a stream in which they announced the fact of her termination, which is also an industry standard action>they had the CEO personally deliver an apology video, in English, with English subtitles, on the English branch's official channel; which was an industry firstThey either don't know or don't care about the cultural differences between the west and Japan. They either don't know or don't care that westerners generally don't hold the belief that an employee's physical and mental health is less important than the company's reputational health, and generally don't agree with the idea that an employee should be obligated to sacrifice their own well-being or reputation in order to maintain the public perception that the company is infallible.
They either don't know or don't care that westerners don't like it when a company harasses the family of a victim of that company's workplace harassment, especially if the company does it while the victim is hospitalized due to a failed attempt, and double-especially if the company knows at that point in time why their employee attempted. They either don't know or don't care that westerners generally view it as a Very Bad Thing™ to try to goad a suicide survivor into making another attempt
especially when the victim reveals that they had already made a second attemptAnd they either don't know or don't care that westerners have a particularly strong disdain for insincere apologies.
tldr they hate us more than we hate them, and they hate us because we don't hate Doki as much as they do
