>>91255002They've already waited months to do anything about Aster. They chose not to do anything about him when False's contact told management about him, because they were worried that firing him for sekuhara would somehow damage the company's reputation.
But then False published the story, and their reputation has been damaged because the world found out about their decision to NOT fire or otherwise punish him for sekuhara. And then they soft-confirmed that the information False published is true and correct, by suspending Aster (first for one week, and then later bumped up to eight weeks)
Spending another three months pretending nothing happened will do them more harm than good, especially when they acknowledged that something happened and have commissioned an "independent" "investigation" into the matter. And they don't want to fire him without also firing someone else, because firing only him means officially, expressly, unambiguously, and publicly acknowledging the fact that False's report is 100% true - especially the part where they spent months pretending nothing happened.
This yab will end one of three ways:
>Niji fires the leaker(s), but keeps Aster on a quiet "hiatus" for a few weeks or months before "graduating" him Yugo style>Niji fires the leaker(s) and Aster, but uses weasel words to avoid admitting that they did nothing about him for months and only bonked him because their efforts to keep it buried under the rug had backfired>Niji uses the yab as their excuse to completely shitcan the entire EN branch en masse due to "widespread misconduct among the livers," while taking great lengths to avoid mentioning the gross mismanagement which has been plaguing the branch for close to three years
