Here is an amusing story: in the very same day (or close by, my memory is fading) of “lapis lazuri, give me” Pekora was almost DESPERATE to find someone to bounce with someone to set up a shared arc in the server.
Pekora then found Mel’s castle, called it a prison and expected that to set up the scene for something that ended up never coming because, after receiving the “atonement diamond” from Pekora, Mel pretty much disappeared from the server.
Moona, OTOH, seized the opportunity to bounce with Pekora and stuck around, helped building the gold farm, then went to find dogs for Sora, trapped a recently returned Miko in the automatic stairs, helped Korone putting the fireworks for Miko and became a staple in the server.
Mel problem was not being “forgettable” but disappearing in the key moments of the box. See also: Aki
