I wrote the skeleton of a promise jukebox musical in another thread over the course of an hour and change because I was sad about how the musical came out and I want to see what you all think because the thread is too busy talking about copyright autism
Act 1
“Daydream”
Kronii, Fauna and Mumei are students at the knight academy. We spend a couple minutes getting to know the cast, Kronii and Mumei are introduced as listless swordswomen/knights, and Fauna is a mage who is a noble’s daughter. Fauna and Mumei both leave the courtyard they are in, and Kronii, is idling by around sings Daydream before declaring “I need what all true warriors need! A quest!” She calls Mumei (who is passing in the background) over and sells her on the idea of going on an epic quest before they both get old and are stuck at posts guarding the city walls forever. They both rush offstage and try to get Fauna to go on their quest with them.
“Let Me Stay Here”
Fauna in the castle garden, says flat out no to them because she likes being safe within the city walls.Fauna sings "Let me Stay Here" and during the interludes, she sits down on a bench in the garden and Mumei and Kronii say stuff like “the town’s not going anywhere! don't you want to go out see the world?" which results in Fauna turning her head the other way every time they get on one side of her bench, trying to meet her gaze. The music number ends with them both trying to pull fauna out of her seat and go adventuring with them only to end with Mumei and Kronii slipping and falling on their asses. The spotlights go out and the scene changes.
Act 2
“A New Start”
That night, whatever Mcguffin it is (let’s say it’s fauna’s golden apple that is a family heirloom) gets stolen and then they all have a scene of trying to find it, and someone says they saw a thief head into the forest road towards the next kingdom. Kronii and Mumei both tell Fauna that this is the quest they’ve been looking for, and Fauna begrudgingly agrees. The trio sets out in the morning to the tone of “A New Start”, and the pages of the book stage they perform the musical on turn to reveal varied backgrounds (with a small cutout near the front where Fauna and Kronii are mostly marching in place while Mumei sings.)
“Play Dice”
Kronii, Mumei and Fauna stop by a seedy tavern where they ask for someone to give them information, the barkeep points them in the direction of the roguish Bae. Bae says “yeah I’ve seen the thief who stole your golden apple. You’ll have to play me for that information.” She sings Play Dice while Fauna, Mumei and Kronii are chased in the background by giant dice, falling cards, etc. At the end Bae says “thanks for all the gold!”, trips and dice slip out of her sleeve along with several cards, and someone cries “these dice are loaded!” “she cheated!”. Kronii and Mumei restrain Bae, who quickly tells the group “I’ll give you back all your gold and tell you where the thief went if you help me get out of here!” and the group escapes the angry taverngoers.
"Caesura of Despair”
The group sets up camp, Bae talks about how they have to keep an eye out because the woods are full of bandits and the horrible sword demon, to which kronii and mumei say they heard that it was the “sword angel” who lived in these woods. They hear rustling in the bushes, Fauna uses a light spell to reveal they are surrounded by bandits. Kronii says “There’s too many of them..: We can’t fight all of them off.” to which Mumei and Bae reply “we have to!” until Irys enters the scene proclaiming that these travelers are not to be harmed in her woods. She proceeds to sing Caesura of Despair while doing cool sword tricks and slashing down (imaginary) foes while all the rest of the group is also mock fighting in the background.
End
“Our Promise”
Irys stabs the last bandit who has the gold apple, and something else which Fauna recognizes as one of the crown jewels with the King’s seal on it. And they travel back to the castle where the King (I would love to make it Gura, but it’s promise’s musical so no gura) greets them and says “Brave Knights Kronii, Mumei and Fauna, you have earned the commission of Knighthood for your bravery in the service of the Kingdom!”, to which the girls all celebrate. The king continues “and you, paladin Irys and thief Baelz, are pardoned from any crimes against the kingdom and given the status as knights, however… There are several more important artifacts that are currently missing from the treasury and I will expect you all to honor your PROMISE as knights to the kingdom to retrieve them.” Kronii and Mumei say “That means!... Another Quest?!” and Fauna sighs.
And then they start singing “Our Promise” and close out the show
