>>91473772the whole point of karaoke for me is the rough, unpolished singing and the silly, let-yourself-go, "I fucking love this song" communal aspect. everyone there should feel the urge to sing or cheer along because it feels like the singer is there with us in energy and spirit.
I guess sometimes if the singer is too on point and focused on their own vocal performance, it can create some distance between the singer and audience and it becomes more of a one-way thing and less of a participatory karaoke session
