>>92082966>Fauna's situationAlways felt it weird how saplings were so dedicated to her despite she herself wanting to maintain a professional distance from them. But then again - not my oshi, and they weren't really causing any problems until recently, so I didn't really bother.
Personally, I think this distance is the main reason why her leaving was such a shock to her fans.
Look at Ame for example, she didn't say shit about what her reasons were, but she was close enough emotionally to her audience that certain things slipped through in her streams, and alongside her long break, teamates were able to piece together what issues she was having & make peace with the fact that she was one foot out the door already - so it didn't really phase them when she announced that she was leaving (at least in the way it phased the saplings). All the confusion around the "affiliate" thing also probably dulled the blow a bit.
Almost all holos are pretty similar to Ame. Even those that try to keep the audience at a distance often "loosen up" during streams, and use it as a place to vent about all the little troubles in their life which they can't tell anyone else - corporate or personal. After which, they would feel refreshed as fans comforted them.
So when a talent graduates, it usually comes after a few hints in their streams. Fans can often look back at things she mentioned on stream, things that the other girls were saying, or her schedule, or anything else in the past - and piece together at least SOME idea of the reasons for her leaving, or at least the fact that she had been planning this for a while.
Fauna meanwhile, has had a solid mask on her, ever since that whole "not your friend" business, bait it spawned aside.
Barring some soft complaints about her manager, there was no sign, no offhand indicator, no long break, nothing at all, that suggested that she had any plans to leave.
None of the EN or ID girls ever talked about how their "tried to stop her" which happened with every single JP girl who graduated so far.
Hell, the ID girls like Reine and Kaela felt like they were closer to her and got more out of her.
But even what THEY got was the same distant and professional type demeanor going "I got this, don't worry".
And it's pretty likely that the EN girls weren't happy about being completely shut out emotionally like that. So much so that they couldn't even TRY to reason with her. Resulting in the oddly detached "it is what it is" type of reactions to most of them.
And I'm sure saplings were not happy with those reactions, or with not knowing what Fauna's reason for leaving was, or for even being unable to figure out that she was even planning on leaving.
But ultimately the core issue behind this whole thing (that they are unwilling to acknowledge) is the fact that their oshi didn't really care for them beyond her professional "work" obligations, and that any closeness they felt was one-sided.
They can hope that maybe it changes after she leaves to do indie stuff.. but I get the feeling that she will remain distant, and just be far more VOCAL about keeping this distance - like most twitch indies.
