3rd Party investigation probably just means searching for the best person to blame so the company comes out looking the best way possible.
Unfortunately for Niji, plastering Aster on merch, stream and voicepack despite this "investigation" already shows to people that their mind is set up and they wont look good if Aster stays and Twisty being forced to leave.
But if Aster has to go, it means acknowledging they screwed up and confirming the leaks of having ignored the complaints until Frank spread the message.
And if both have to go, nobody will be happy.
People will be pissed and Niji wont come out unscathed no matter what.
So for the company, they have to pick their poison of what damages them the least.
