I just spent a half hour doing a stage, doing whatever it was towards my own progression. With the time I have in the day, I'm not going to spend 10-20 more minutes on a portion that doesn't add anything to the core features or progress my oshi's powers. The breadth of the HoloHouse is also not deep or rewarding enough to make me want to spend time on it. Top-down sprite housing is just not terribly rewarding since a player is not given a close enough view or enough interactivity to make it feel like the home you want to make.
Even a newer player just jumping into the game, I have a hard time imagining them wanting to spend time working on the HoloHouse when they have 20+ chuubas to unlock and explore their own play styles.
Now, if Kay Yu would make a hard stance on anything he designs, he could make the HoloHouse more engaging by putting things like
>Skills>talents>Weapon skins>WeaponsBehind the HoloHouse system. This idea that he likes to make all the side content "not necessary" is a discredit to his own work and the feature itself.
