Expectations have been set based on previous experiences, otherwise you wouldn't have had so many people through the past weeks since Fauna announced her graduation hoping, praying, begging, that a 1-on-1 collab would happen. All that just shows people wanting what is not the norm to happen.
Was it "necessary" for the collab to happen? No. Nothing is "necessary" when you to it if you want to be a pedantic. But just like that you can ask why it was "necessary" for it to not happen, specially so saw it happening with so many others.
This honestly shouldn't even be a argument.
Collabs between holomems should be one of the most basic and normal things there can possibly be. And one of the biggest appeals of the Holo ecosystem. Why is it such an issue for people to want collabs? Only here, somehow, people wanting their oshi to collab with others is a point of contention. Only here expecting a basic normal holomem thing and being disappointed it is not happening is somehow a bad thing and something that should be argued against.
