For people who think this isn't the best version of King
First, you're wrong, but you are entitled to your opinion.
Second, I'm genuinely curious why would you put any other performance over this one?
I honestly couldn't tolerate this song at all before this cover, not just because it's overdone, but because the original was bland and lifeless (expected, it's a vocaloid song) But all of the other covers... are also lifeless. That's not to say no energy goes into them, but there's no punch, no drive, no action or dynamics, they're just dry takes of vocals. That goes completely counter to the upbeat, pounding bass and fast-paced lyrics. This song NEEDS energy, and this is the only cover I've heard so far that brings what it needs.
This cover took a song I couldn't stand, and made it into a song I can't stop listening to on repeat. It injected the fun, the melodrama, and the actual dynamic changes needed to make it a proper earworm, and you can tell people agree based on the view counts already. Now sure, those are inflated a little bit due to being the first week of release, but the cover has almost matched Risu despite Risu's cover being out for half a year. This cover has only been released for 4 days and six hours.
Overall average song repeats could drop to less than 10% of what they currently are for the next year, and the total number of replays would surpass Kuzuha's current number. At less than 20% for a whole year, they could top the current position of Kanaria, who has been out for exactly that much time.
Will that happen? I don't know. I don't imagine 100% of the Deadbeats and Chumbuddies who are currently blasting the jam will be doing so 6 months from now, but if less than a 30th of Gura's Current subs and Less than a 30th of Calli's subs, to say nothing of other Holomem fans or just fans of the song in general keep listening to it daily, it'll more than hit those numbers.
You might say "That's not fair, that's just math and using big sub counts to bully others with, that doesn't mean the cover is objectively better."
Well, sure, that's opinion, I'm not saying that having more subs constantly watching would make it better, but you also have to then ask, if the other covers are so much better, with view counts in the millions and tens of millions, why can't/couldn't they maintain similar growth?
TL;DR
The girls Johnny Cash'd this one. If you still like others more, then fine, you're allowed to like what you like, but you're weird and I don't understand your tastes.
