Which is a bit of a conundrum when money comes into the picture, because studies about intrinsic and extrinsic motivation have shown that if you take an activity people enjoy doing normally (intrinsic motivation) and you monetize it (extrinsic motivation) then that activity paradoxically becomes less enjoyable for the people doing it, even if they literally get paid for something they enjoyed doing it.
On the other hand doing things you enjoy for no pay is an easy way for someone to exploit the shit out of you especially if you are a wagey where all your efforts won't lead to an immediate or even any increase in your salary.
In CC's case though that extra work could lead to her becoming a more popular vtuber as someone who's very creative and multitalented and does similarly insane shit on her streams come watch her pls, so even if she didn't get paid for the work it might be worth for her to gamble several hours of her free time just for the notoriety.
