Your company can be as transparent as they want and be as free as they want to be. But if they can't bring in money, they WILL collapse, and money isn't in the mood of "pro talent freedom". Many small corpos have died this year, even idol corp was sold to a bigger company, and sooner or later Phase will be next if Sakana isn't careful with the spending. Also Sakana can't simply mass debut like Niji because it translates to an increase in cost, and he needs decent enough profit to cover that, so their growth is nerfed
And as for VShojo, Mousey is clearly the main money-maker and they are run by charities and Twitch's mercy. But their biggest weakness is Twitch, an arguably more free than Youtube, but an unstable one. If Twitch collapse, high chance VShojo will too, and there is no proof that Twitch will live forever
You can hate Holo and Niji for trying to make money, but as big as they are now, "being poor" is simply not an option. For liggers, selling merch is a hobby. For actual corpos, selling merch is their lifeline, especially for merch-spamming Niji
