>>92974637>>92974909>Point is that idols do not nor have their historically ever "stopped existing" once they graduate like anon implied. Not that anon, but while you are right about this, I think there is one massive distinction here.
Being an idol is a limited time thing. Everyone knows this. So an idol quitting to go into those different career paths which you've mentioned makes a lot of sense because those careers can be persued for a lot longer than the limited time idol career, which is expected to be short
The huge difference between this and Vtubing is that you can technically be a Vtuber for far far longer. There are several Vtubers who have been under the exact same identity for over 6 or 7 years and keep going. So when one quits their company and then proceeds to basically continue the same career part as an independent or by joining another company, it's going to raise questions.
In Fauna's case, the exact details of what made her leave are still unknown and if she actually is going to make a turn into doing stuff that her previous fans would have disliked (collabing with Holostars, etc) then I think it's normal for people to be apprehensive. I think that's part of why people tend to be more judgemental of Vtubers especially if the reasons are vague.
I've no skin in this game because I don't watch her, but if I was a Fauna fan who disliked male interactions, I'd be getting ready to bail or at least prepare a new/main oshi because red flags have been thrown up
